Australia

February 8th he flew to Australia.
That was a long time ago.
I know its gone by fast for him though.

This is the only good photo I have. I have a bunch of blurry photos. He went snorkeling and I believe took his camera in the water. Now he has no camera.

This is very sad. Its also very sad that I have hardly any emails from him. He calls instead, about once a week, maybe.
I can't remember what he says when he calls.
I have no written record of what has been happening. Its depressing. I know he is not writing it down somewhere either. So much has happened there. So much I will never know about because he is not writing and telling me or keeping a journal.
I'm too sad to write more for now. I will return with blurry photos and what I know of what he has been doing.

We made our mark on Reed Point

The girls had the opportunity to speak about their YWAM adventures in Reed Point this Sunday.
It was a great time and I have it all here for your enjoyment so-

Here is where the event took place.

We were the first ones there, seeing as how we came an hour early. I got the parking space by the bell. I'm taking that as a sign from God.

I took the girls and the boys stayed home but asked me to take pictures of the town so they could see it.
Standing in front of the church I took this photo of the view down the street.
See that blue house? That is the parsonage. And thank God for that because one un-named eldest daughter of mine forgot her speaking notes at home and we were able to have them emailed to the parsonage (love that word) and have them printed off for her there.

This is looking the other direction.

But its time to go inside now. They had all the kids meet in the Sanctuary for Sunday School so the girls could talk to them also. They had worked so hard and had an excellent slide show and talk all prepared for the kids. (There were about 15 kids). But...the slide show would not play correctly on the church's computer/projector so it didn't turn out as well as hoped. We finally got it to work some, but it just wasn't the same as if it had been done perfectly.
All in all it was good though. They spoke for about 45 minutes.
Every child in the room made a commitment to go into foreign missions.
Just kidding, it wasn't quite that good, but God is not done with them yet.

Church began with worship.

The pastor said there would be about 80 people in the morning service but we are guessing there was more like 40 that day. Mostly older people.

I asked the pastor if there were any eligible bachelors that attend
(hopefully area ranchers) and he said there were a couple but they wouldn't be there that day.
What a shame. I (jokingly) told him to just go ahead and write down their numbers. What a lovely shade of pink my daughter turned.

We heard this passionate plea for the people of India.

Caught up in the passion. (funny face)

Enumerating the many reasons why they need our prayers.

And then played this music video with heart wrenching photos she took in India and the song Give Me Your Eyes by Brandon Heath.

At this point I should mention Jake, the sound guy. Jake did a good job but I was a little disappointed that he felt the sound should be turned so low for the music video.
Jake, what were you thinking? This is a good song! Crank it up next time!

Then, it was time to hear about Costa Rica.

Heehee. I just love the opportunity to catch these moments in pictures- and then put them on here for everyone to see.

Talking about good times in Costa Rica, and how much she'd love to go back.

Please pray for the friendly people of Costa Rica.

Thought provoking slide show to the tune of Keep Your Lure In The Water and Pray For The Fish both by Randy Travis.

Which Jake seemed to enjoy more.

And now for the moment we have all been waiting for.
The pastor called for the ushers to come forward.

These small ones appeared.
I guess there are no full sized ushers on duty here.
During the prayer I heard a clatter and ...

Now for the passin' of the plates.

And it was all over.
Of course I rushed out, but I didn't get far because I ran into Nick.
Nick is one of those people who come to church for the social interaction. He was actually there before we were and we were there an hour before Sunday School started.
Nick is a rather slow talker and chock full of talk. He kept me until the parking lot had cleared out and at last my daughters came out.
I handed Nick off to them and said I was sorry I had to go.

They were expected at the parsonage (love that word) for lunch with the pastor and his wife.
The pastor finally had to come out and get them.

While they were at lunch I decided to tour the town to bring home the promised photographs.
Here's the gas station I found on Main Street.

I was relieved to find they had public facilities.
I didn't personally find relief here...but it was still good to know.

I went about a 2 blocks and found myself at the last piece of town. But I was glad I made the trip. I found this to photograph.

And I found all these empty picnic tables right across the street.

It doesn't look like there is much to do in Reed Point but if you want to visit they'll hold a table for you. Bring the extended family.
Just down the street is this hoppin' establishment.

I actually saw someone pull up and try the door. (no luck)
Next to it is the Wild Horse.

Which actually looks better from a distance.

I found the park! ...I think. And look - another open table!
Grab it quick.

Near there is the Pirates Cove.

I have no idea what it is, but I sure felt welcome.

And it was here that I discovered the community bulletin board.

And I left my mark on Reed Point.

Next I passed this fabulous store with all the latest.
Unfortunately it was also closed.

I decided to go down the one street that was left and I found the local schools.
I learned that the high school's ship had come in.....years ago.
That was good to know.

Look at this view from the high school parking lot.
Isn't that a nice view!
How many people get to see that from their window in High School?

I was enjoying this from different angles

....when there was this rude interruption.

I headed back to the church to stare at this scene for the next long half hour- forty five minutes until the girls finally came out of the parsonage.
The blue parsonage.
One day they may live in a parsonage of their own.
It sounds like a vegetable.
Please pass the parsonage.
This is the back lot of the church, the one facing the parsonage.
It was a long wait.
Not the highlight of the trip.

Heading out we passed this sign.

We just want to say thank EWE Reed Point!
We did enjoy our visit!
